Welcome to Project Learn, a school community that has been part of Northwest Philadelphia for almost 50 years. As both a parent and a teacher, I have been part of this community for more than 20 years and was lucky enough to work alongside our three founding teachers for the first 10 years of my career. I use the word “community” with intention because for my husband, daughters and me, Project Learn has been much more than a school. It has been an important part of who we are as individuals and as a family. It is an environment that has allowed me to grow both as a professional and as a person. The skills provided by their Project Learn education continue to be evident as my daughters pursue their adult careers. For my family, PLS has been a community where we have made friendships that continue to enrich our lives.
Each of our families has a story to tell and I am excited to hear yours. While our school is small, your opportunity to make an impact is huge. We invite you to take an active part in your child's education. Better yet, through your participation you will make a difference to the whole community.
Whether you are an adult or a child, PLS allows for relationships that are honest and rich. It is a community that encourages participation by the whole family. It is a community with open doors, sharing the vast resources we have within our PLS community along with making use of the resources that surround us.
I invite you to explore our website and encourage anyone interested in a Project Learn education to stop by during school hours and witness the magic firsthand. We’ll have plenty of kids to greet you, and they will be happy to share why they love Project Learn School!
Sincerely,
Joan Fox
